This is really a great watch, looks amazing in different types of light. Solar powered so you won’t have to replace the battery with a low battery indicator where the second hand will move 2 seconds to notify you that the battery is low and won’t lose track of time, pretty innovative! Getting used to setting the date was a bit tricky at first, you have to set the date a day before the current day and then turn the time hands to change the date to the current one with the time. Keep track of AM and PM while setting the time and date; if you’re in the PM then set the time when the hour hand passes the 12 o’ clock mark the second time.

I am amazed at the quality at this price point – looks even better than in the photo, and is extremely accurate: no more than a couple seconds off after 1 months of use (although I didn’t check accuracy in cold or hot weather). My other watch, an entry-level automatic movement Swiss-made chronograph-rated watch is about 4 sec off per day (which is actually pretty good), and 10 times as expensive. Some reviews complain about the strap, but I like the strap too, looks fine to me, and perfectly comfortable. To me, all battery-powered quartz-movement watches should die a quick death – there is no competition with a solar watch, at any price point. Also, in terms of functionality, this obviously is better than an expensive automatic movement watch, as well, unless you are a collector/watch enthusiast.

What a great price for a fine Seiko watch! It’s Solar powered – no batteries to buy or mainsprings to constantly re-wind! The watch should stay pretty much constantly charged, as long as you store it in a place where it can receive light when not wearing it, and don’t keep it in a dark drawer. It features a day/date display, luminous paint on the hours and hands to tell the time in the dark, and a very fine and accurate Japanese Seiko movement. The “sunburst” dark blue/grey dial face is elegant and understated, and accented by the gold tone ring on the outer case. The “brown” leather band is a little too “reddish” for me, although I cannot say that it looks bad. It’s just a matter of personal preference and something that can be easily changed if you wish. Some reviewers have observed that the band wears out quickly and cracks easily. All leather bands will do this over time, but a little bit of leather conditioner applied a couple of times a year might help to delay this as well as soften it and thereby improve your comfort. All in all, I’m very pleased with and enjoy wearing this fine watch.

I’ve worn this watch for about two weeks. Using the US Naval Observatory clock for validation, it has lost about 5 seconds over 14 days. Pretty decent. Looks great. Band is nice, supple and functional. I’ve worn Seiko for about forty years. Never had a problem with any I’ve owned. At around $100-200, their watches are great values if you are looking for a nice time piece and not an expensive piece of jewelry that also tells time.

Seiko Quality is obvious when you set the time/day/date. Very positive movement and easy to find “A” and B” Position on the stem. Watch is beautiful and functional. Luminous hands and markets coupled with 10ATM water resistance and polished gold/silver case, as well as a a supple comfortable band all enhance the value. Note, some commenters complained about the “ghost” hands that are visible on the photo. I can not see these on the watch I received, and would add that the face is a sunburst dark grey/blue and is quite attractive.

This is my 5th Seiko, and this watch does not disappoint! The elegant gold colored hands and indices show up well against the dark blue face. The golden bezel and crown stand out against the polished stainless steel case. The leather strap is comfortable and adds to the very masculine look of the timepiece. Highly recommend! This is a watch men will love.

I finally broke down and skipped away from the inexpensive Timex watches of similar appearance. This watch is gorgeous and a real eye-catcher. I was not one that needed 10 different buttons and dials on my watch that will never be used. It has a nice finish and a nice band. I am confident that you’ll be happy if you step up to this purchase. I have an old Seiko from the early 90’s that is still running strong.

The highly polished gold finish of the crown makes the watch conspicuous on your hand. But once noticed, the watch immediately impresses with its classic simplicity and tasteful elegance. Inspected further, it hints of active, business like lifestyle. It is not a fashion watch, but it will look proper at a yacht club function with the face that’s black with hints of deep navy blue and gray in certain lighting situations. Finely chiseled bold markings impart depth emphasized by how the face responds to light. The hair-like seconds hand suggests precision, but any fussiness is muted by the restraint of the overall design. Balanced combination of polished and matte finishes flawlessly matches the interplay of gold and steel of the bezel and the case. This medium sized watch has substantive presence without appearing bulky, thick or heavy, and it wares comfortably.

Guess what guys? Its been more than 2 years already, and the watch is still accurate every second, especially when I only wore it on special events such as weddings or some school days that I needed to watch the time. PERFECT WATCH for a small wrist. Very very elegant! That’s all we need, guys.if there is something inconvenient, that would be you need to correct the date at the end of some month because you can’t know exactly what month the watch stays on now. One thing is that if you wear it daily, the strap will get kinda dirty because of sweat, but you are the only one who knows and can see it when you take it off.
