I was hesitant to buy these bulbs at first. DI NOT HESITATE! The bulbs are a direct “plug in” replacement for the original CFL bulbs. No wiring changes, no ballast removal, NOTHING! Just remove the old bulbs and install the new bulbs and flip the switch…that’s it! They emit a fabulous “daylight” type of light and they are an “instant on” bulb. I love them. I replaced four (4) of them in the kitchen. Now to replace the rest of them throughout the house!

Installed all 6, and they worked like a charm. I had a slight concern: when you turn the switch on, the light flickers lightly before going to full brightness. I left an amazon question and the rep responded that a brief flicker is good – it’s caused by some ballast. So far they’ve been exercised daily, 2-3 hours at a time, and nothing is amiss.

It’s been a couple of weeks and the 2 bulbs in my bathrooms that replaced those horrible CFLs are still going strong. The quality and quantity of light is much better than the CFLs. I’m planning to buy some more to replace my kitchen lights. By the way, CFLs with external ballasts need to be outlawed.Update: It’s now been 4 months and the bulbs are still going strong. I’ve got 2 in my bathrooms and 7 in my kitchen. No flicker or warmup time, bright, silent, and decent color spectrum. If I experience any problems or failures, I’ll try to update this review.

I was very happy that these worked in my G24Q-2 light fixture without needing to do any weird wiring / ballast changes (like many of the other led bulbs indicated). I was also worried that these would only fit in G24Q-3, given one of the images in the product, but it looks like these will fit either, since it doesn’t have notches going out from the base to block it from inserting. I’ll try to update after I’ve had them a while, but so far so good.

In my quest to change all the bulbs in the house from incandescent/halogen/CFL’s to LED’s, I came across a few that were CFL’s but with GX24Q-3 bases (most other ones were simple A19 ones that were really easy to replace), these were quite a pain to find replacements for, especially since you have to worry if the ballast is compatible or not. So, coming across these Philips ones, I decided to give it a shot. And fortunately for me, it worked for my particular application. The bulbs are built very solidly, they snapped into the base very nicely, and the light quality is great. Also, there’s no delay when flipping the switch to when you perceive the light being turned on. My only wish would be to see a better price per bulb, but I suppose it is understandable given the rarity of this bulb/base combination.

Let me cut to the chase: THESE ARE WORTH THE MONEY.I rarely write reviews but had no choice with these. My home was built in 2011 and, for some reason, the builder went with CFL bulbs for the recessed lighting housings in the kitchen. If you have these, you know how terrible they are: degrade fast, produce less light and take longer to warm up to full brightness as they age, and burn out quickly. They use a ballast so adapters don’t work. And they’re fragile. Combine that with a recessed housing and you have a light bulb changing nightmare. Gloves for light bulb changes and scraped knuckles got old after a while. The Philips LED 472845 is game changer. Plug and play. GX24-Q3 4 pin compatible and the same length as the vile CFL bulbs you will be replacing (no sticking out of your recessed housing). These may be pricier but they’re far brighter, use half the energy, easier to remove and install, more durable and longer lasting than their CFL counterparts. If you have CFL bulbs in recessed housings, don’t hesitate. Buy these bulbs. You won’t be disappointed.

I got this to replace a four pin CFL in canned lighting (I tried twisting it to take it out having never experienced four pin bulbs before. I was nervous it wouldn’t work with the ballast, and miffed amazon makes you buy a six pack. I was also a bit worried about replacing an 1800 lumen bulb with a 1300 but figured I’d give it a try given its efficiency (124 lumen/watt of directional lighting). I’m glad I did! This bulb is awesome! It’s super bright, brighter in its recessed fixture than the CFL it replaces, and the light is gorgeous. With the reduced power, it’ll still take a few years for this bulb to pay for itself, but it will eventually.

Soft light amber light, hard to find 2700 kelvin in a g240 4 pin at a decent price. We installed another brand in our kitchen and they started blowing within 30 days. We have since moved these from our bedroom and into the kitchen and now no issues with blow outs even with the numerous turning off/on the lights in the kitchen. Quality brand. Came faster than expected.

I had nine 26W triple-tube 4-pin CFLs (EiKO TT26/27) in my kitchen and was looking for an LED alternative for energy savings. I had three options:1. Stick with the existing CFLs.2. LED retrofit kit (bypass the ballast).3. LED direct replacement (4-pin ballast compatible).#2 seemed like a pain, so I took a chance with #3. Someone from my neighborhood had done the same and was happy with the Philips, so I figured they’d probably work nicely with my ballasts too. So far I’m glad I did, and provided they last 10+ years I’ll be satisfied (the packaging claims 32+ years). Some things to note:- These lights are considerably brighter than the CFLs they replace, even though the number of rated lumens are less. Maybe that’s because my CFLs are six years old.- The LEDs come on faster and I haven’t seen any flickering nor heard any buzzing.- Only the cap of the light is illuminated.- I have not tested with a dimmer, and don’t intend to use one.- The label on the light says “Use with electronic ballasts”.- Model number 9290013884.

These are amazing! Honestly I have tried 2 other so called plug and play bulbs but they all failed or flickered. These bulbs are perfect Ive had them in for awhile now and I love them. Instant on no warming up no dimming after months of use. They are well worth the price, I know these will last much longer than the CFL garbage bulbs.
