10 reviews for Newpowa 100 Watts Monocrystalline 100W 12V Solar Panel

I wouldn’t subtract any stars for it but if you are like me & constructing a diy zero-dollar rooftop mounting it is kind of an unwieldy length for its width at 15 pounds. On the upside it’s sensitive, produces twelve volts with just daylight, no direct sunbeams & happens to be compatible with a previously-purchased controller that came with a Ritioneer 50w flex panel kit. Despite needing to buy some mc4 plugs & gator clips, between the price ($20 less than similar 100w mono panels) & the 25-year warranty ($9 savings) & my own diy efforts I spent at least $50 dollars less than a kit would have cost. This frees up my older panel with onboard usb ports for charging the phone on the go, a big consideration with the changing tides of internet cafe availability under Covid regulations.

Have used over 16 of these on various projects and I am in love! 5.5 amps per panel in proper lighting. Have dropped them from 4 feet onto decks without breaking. Very happy!

I bought two in case of emergency. Received on Sep 1st 2020 and have needed to use it for 8 weeks so far! Apr 5th 2021 as time of this review update. Used a single 100W panel to charge 225W LiFePh batteries and to run my office. Ran my whole office setup for 6 weeks until power was restored. It is also easy to install several of these panels on most vehicle roofs. A small sedan alone can have at least a 200W setup. A van could run as much as 1KW.Office Includes:17″ HP Laptop Ryzen 4500U 32GB ram with 2TB storagetwo Samsung 28″ 4K60Hz monitorsmouse, keyboard, LED lamp, phone charger, and Sony bluetooth speaker.Pros: Monocrystalline Higher power per SQ/M Great price to performance ratio Perfect size to install on vehicles for high power solar installsCons: None

Got the product fresh out the box, tested with multimeter, the voltage/amperage outperformed my old one by 110watts. I’m planning to install it over the weekend, if everything works fine I will definitely be buy more.

So far so good! Appears to be a really high quality product that seems to be working just great. I am using this panel to power a solar powered aeration system that I built for my 1/2 acre pond in an attempt to control algae growth. Been running for a little over a month now and all of the algae in my pond has disappeared completely. This thing works great!I got it at a great price and it arrived right on time and in perfect condition. I will definitely be returning to this seller for future solar panel purchases.

Panels were very securely packaged. We purchased 16 panels and one arrived shattered. It was obvious by looking at the box and the pallet they arrived on that it had been pierced by a forklift somewhere in transit. We contacted the company and they gave us a very speedy, satisfactory response. These panels are a very nice looking dark blue color, appear to be a very high quality product.Connected my first four panels for my 48-volt system today. Panels are rated at 100 watts but they immediately started producing 113 watts, in the late afternoon.

Overall so far it’s been working well. Have it mounted to the top of my SUV, charges a group 24 AGM auxiliary battery that powers among other things a camp fridge. Power analyzer shows 17 at 5.5A in full sun so I’m not complaining. I’m using a PWM charger set to 14.4V, so I’m only harvesting 14.4Vx5.8A=83W or thereabouts. For those who are complaining the panels not up to snuff. It might be your charger. Solar panels are constant current devices, not constant power devices, “12V panels” have output currents rating at usually 18V. This 100W panel produces 100/17= 5.9A under ideal circumstances. Just because you’re pulling 12V from it doesn’t mean you’ll get 100/12=8.3A. does not work that way. Now. If you’re like me and use a PWM charger, the voltage difference between the panel and my battery’s charge voltage (17V-14.4V=2.6V is LOST in the transition) so that my actual production power is only 83W. That is not the fault of the panel. Stop blaming the panel for the system loss due to the charging topology used. :DThat being said. Output has been consistent so far. Ditching the MC4 and hardwiring it wasn’t complicated. It’s survived 75mph of winds. Fallen acorns, impromptu rainstorms. We’ll see how it holds up in a couple years.

Really great panels. I LOVE the longer than usual cable they are made with. Saved me a lot on having to cut a bunch of smaller cables to connect with my combiner box

  9. Langers

Perfect. I bought a Renogy 100watt panel. It was trash. While I was waiting for Renogy to respond to the warranty claim (4 months and counting) I ordered this 100 watt panel. It gives a consistent 20+ volts and holds 5 amp output for as long as I need it. This solar panel sits on the roof of my truck, spends 4 days a week at interstate speeds, mounting and frame is lighter than the Renogy, but it’s never presented an issue. Power generation is passable when light is low, about on the same level as the more expensive solar panels I own. I’ll be buying more as the need arises

  10. Lou C

Not the best made panel, but definitely not the worst. Definitely monocrystaline, earlier reviewer has no clue. Well worth 105.00 per unit. My panels put out 118 watts in full sun. 2 panels on a 12v 70 AH battery run my little fridge with no issue. Cranking 11.23A in full sun. The frame is thin, But serviceable. I am buying 2 more today.
