Awesome product and quality. I did alot of research and ended up buying this and it is great. We have a family of 4 and I will never get used to not having to wait on hot water. We can take showers back to back and not have to wait on the water to warm up. We had a 50 gallon water heater in a closet that was not usable. Now we have a coat closet and shoe closet due to having this. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a tankless water heater. The install was easy but had to add breakers and more qire but worth every penny and no storing water. It will save you on electricity over time its a no brainer.

I am so glad we purchased this tankless electric water heater. We have 2 smaller ones for our guest cabins in our backyard that save us a ton of money throughout the year, but still had a huge tank heater in the main house. It only took a couple hours to get it installed and now I have an endless supply of hot water. It it’s instant hot water, but I knew that going in, and it only takes a short time for the water to get really hot. We are a family of (soon to be) 5 and so it’s been nice being able to do laundry, run the dishwasher, give the girls a bath, and then jump in the shower myself before bedtime without being stuck with a cold shower. Plus we saw a significant drop in our electric bill!

We’re in an historic house and many basements flood in our area. I’ve replaced 2 water heaters in the last 12 years and I needed to mount this unit well above danger. LP or NG units are more economical to operate but they’re twice as expensive to purchase and I’d need to pay somebody for installation. I did this one myself since I do all my own wiring. (NOTE: Lifetime warranty requires professional install) Big wire (#8) is expensive so I relocated the heater adjacent to the breaker box. Be sure you have enough capacity to add 4 breakers, 220v, 40 amp. I did and we’re happy. My wife loves long baths plus I can shower at the same time with unlimited hotness. Setting the digital control to 120 degrees works well. It’s just the 2 of us but will write an update if we encounter problems.

This thing is super high quality! I was expecting a cross between an anvil and a hot water heater for the price. I was impressed the second I took it out of the box. I installed mine myself. I had some plumbing refits since I was going from a tank to tankless. The wiring was pretty strait forward, but these things do pull a ton of amps.I installed mine and all the lights in the house flickered as the heater cores cycled. I had more than enough service to the house. There is a ton of stuff on the web about tankless waterheater doing this, not just EcoSmart. Somewhere outside my house in the power lines there is a loose neutral wire connector. You can forget getting the power company to chase the line and fix it. So now I am freaking out. I have plumbed and wired for this and now I am going to have to send it back and change everything for a tanked heater…..or so I thought.I called EcoSmart and talked to Juan. I explained to him what was happening. He knew what it was doing and he explained to me that they can help. All I had to do was open the control box and move a jumper that slowed down the cycle. I took me longer to open the box than it did to fix it.Now hot water all the time. I have turned on 5 sinks and 2 showers (with the outside temp of 34) just to see what the max I could use at one time. I could not tell a temperature difference with all in use.Last, these things have a limited lifetime warranty.I would recommend any EcoSmart product because of the customer service, the quality, ease of installation, and the lifetime warranty.

I’ve had this installed for about a month now and I’d say it works better than the 50 gal. Gas tank style unit I took out, which by the way ran non stop. I think there would be far better Reviews on this product if people would take the time and do their own diligent research on the products that they are buying . I find it amazing how many people are quick to leave a bad review on a product when their ignorance was the primary reason for the product not performing as they had hoped. That being said time will tell whether or not this product will last as long as the old tank style heater I had before but as of right now I absolutely love it and I expect to be enjoying the energy savings reflected on my utility bill soon.It is true this unit does draw a 150 amps at full capacity but being an electrician I took some real load test on it and found out that the 4 circuits actually are staged, so unless you have 4 people showering at all at the same time you will likely never see anywhere close to that current draw.I’ll check back in a year-and revaluate this review but for now 5 stars baby

I’ve been considering the EcoSmart tankless water heater for a few years now, then my water heater randomly crapped out on me this fall and I figured I’d go for it! I was hesitant because I’d asked my plumber about electric tankless water heaters (I don’t have gas in my house & everything is electric) and he said that they were “useless” and that “they would only get the water to 80 degrees in the winter”?! I thought this was odd since I’ve seen 5 star reviews on these heaters from places like Montana and North Dakota, & I’m in Atlanta where it doesn’t any where near that cold here! Anyway, I had this overnight shipped for an extra $10 with my prime account, & had an excellent contractor install it for me (who could do both the electrical & plumbing work). I think he charged me $900, but the wiring was something like $250+ at home deport. Anyway, the price came out about the same (if not less) than what the plumber had quoted me for a regular tank water heater. Plus I’ve already noticed a reduction in my electrical bill! And the water get HOT! Like way hotter than my old heater!Only thing I’d say as a warning is that you will want to make sure that you have enough breakers available in your box, because the other reviews weren’t joking when they said it takes 4 double breakers (basically 8 single breaker spots)! The contractor didn’t believe me were I said 8 total but that’s really what it takes!

I am very impressed with this water heater. I was finally able to enjoy my 20 min shower without having the water go ice cold on me. It gets hot in a hurry, in fact we may need to turn the temp down a bit because it gets almost too hot. We installed this ourselves. We had to add 240v wiring into the breaker box because we previously only had 110v. It took a good 8 hours to complete the wiring and plumbing installation. This unit was purchased as “used, like new” condition. I was a little skeptical at first but when we received it I had no worries. It was clearly never installed. The packaging was original but it must have been opened and then returned to the store. It saved me lots of $$$. I live in Alaska and this unit is over twice this price at the big box stores up here. I was able to save even more $$$ by purchasing the “used” unit. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

We replaced a second story attic water heater that supported 3 Baths and Laundry. This may be slightly oversized for our needs, but I intend on adding the kitchen when and if the water heater in the kitchen island fails. We had the benefit of the Mechanical Room being 20 feet from the installation area with access through the attic wall for the four 8/2 wires required to support the ECO 36 unit. Additionally we had ample space for the four 40 Amp two pole breakers and 600 Amp service. We did have to equalize the load across our two 200 Amp boxes to ensure we would not exceed limits when/if our 3 heat pumps, dryer, etc were to turn on at the same time as the water heater. We have been pleased with the almost instant (5-10 seconds at the fixture) and have taken two showers at once without an issue.

Device works perfectly. Temperature is adjustable through digital dial and I have it set to 120. We can have multiple people showering and the laundry going and it works just fine. I am in a warmer climate area though, so results may vary for those in colder climates. I can tell you it handled our colder days in FL if that helps any.The true benefit of this is the energy savings. No need to heat water 24/7. Heating it on demand is much more efficient. Even with 6 people in my home taking multiple showers a day I still see a good amount of savings. It also is convenient to not run out of water. There is only one con and one feature request. The con…This can be expensive to install. If you don’t have enough space in your breaker panel than the costs can be even higher. In my opinion it is still worth it but you will be waiting longer for your return on investment. The feature request… its 2020…can we get an app to change the temp. Would also be nice to have some maintenance reminders and/or warning messages. I have no idea if something is wrong unless it stops working one day. Would be nice to have a leak detection.I would also recommend getting the shut off valves for maintenance reasons. I got these Webstone 44443WPR 3/4-Inch IPS… If you do make sure you put enough space between the wall and the unit. I had to put some 2x4s between in order to turn the valves on and off.I am really impressed and glad I spent the money on it.

….But holy hell does it take a lot of room on your breaker! Its by far the best tankless I’ve every had though and heats up my 3600+ sq ft house up nicely (3 people bathing at once with washing machine)
