Replaced a competitors brand with this one mainly because it used the same three 40amp breakers. This model keeps up without the temperature fluctuating even in the cold winter we are having (0-9 degrees outside). We live in northwest Tennessee. The other brand (Lowes sold it in 2009) made taking a shower a chore having to constantly turn the faucet up and down between hot and cold to try and keep the water at an even temperature but most of the time it was luke warm. Love the EcoSmart and the price is good. It will hold a warm/hot water setting even at low flow from the faucet. Sink and shower at the same time is no problem either. We have no need to have three faucets running at the same time although it says it can do one shower and two faucets. We only have it set to 112 degrees with is plenty hot, I never have to have the faucets at full hot.

This was by far the best home improvement item we’ve ever purchase and installed. This replaced our traditional 50 gallon tank and made for a full-size dryer (it had been stacked on the washer). The electric water heater hangs neatly on the wall and displays the water temperature whenever the hot water is turned on any where in the house. There is a small wait in the shower (farthest from the unit) but when the hot water gets there it stays there until you turn off the faucet. We have dual showerheads and my husband and I can both shower at the same time without taking each other’s hot water.I haven’t noticed a decrease in our electric bill because it was pretty small to begin with (small house, no children) but it hasn’t gone up, either. I was afraid our water bill would increase since we are taking longer showers, but that has not happened.I highly recommend this product.

The one that was in the house when we bought it broke a few months later and even though this one was not the same manufacturer it was the exact same unit. So it make it very easy to install. All wires and connections were exactly the same.

With the removal of the old water heater, This thing freed up 20 square feet of utility room space, pulled 700lbs off my floor, gets hot water, hotter water actually (you can set it to the exact temp). Hot water is delivered to the faucet just as fast as the old tank one did. The thing weighs very little and takes up so little wall space. Also importantly, this device puts ALL the heat into the water and NOT my utility room, meaning that my A/C has one less heat source to counter act. That area of the house is much cooler now. This is the way we should have always been making hot water. I love it.

I installed this in an older home I have been tinkering with remodeling. I replaced a 40 gallon OLD electric hot water heater. I HAVE NOT REGRETTED IT since. It does not “draw down” the power on the house when the hot water is turned on. I spoke with my regional director of electric service provider, and this unit is a good alternative for the power grid, because it uses sensors to detect how much water is being used and how many heating coils are needed to heat the water (in other words, it is intelligent and efficient).I have had the clothes washer, kitchen sink, and 2 showers all running at the same time, and had hot water the ENTIRE time. The other bonus, I was able to install it myself (with a follow up by a certified electrician friend) which was easy, for the DIYer with electrical experience.

I’m very pleased with the Ecosmart unit I recently purchased. It works very well and was fairly easy to install. Being an electrician made the electrical part go smoothly and using the water pipes from the old tank made the plumbing very simple. Was surprised to find out that air pockets in the water line can damage the heating elements and void the warranty. Better install an air pocket detector if you’re system is subject to line breaks and unplanned outages. Otherwise I’m glad I made the conversion.

We purchased this to replace our old tank water heater so we wouldn’t have to heat water that was just sitting. I love that I get hot water on demand in all of my faucets (except bathtub) I should have gone a bit bigger heater, cannot get constant hot water from my bathtub faucet probably because it pushes so much water faster than sinks. Easy to set temp by the dial. I thought it would save on electricity costs but I do not see a difference in my bill but I am quite happy with my purchase and would buy it again.

I purchased this product in December and had it installed for about a month now. I live in a 3br 2ba 1400 sqf town-home that used a 55 gallon water heater. My old water heater was leaking so I research tankless and using less energy. Energy consumption was the main reason I changed water heaters. Honestly the plumber told me there is nothing wrong with the old one. I told him, “just get rid of it”. Like another reviewer stated, “the best shower I ever took in my house”! My clothes even smell cleaner coming from the washing machine. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to replace. Now i can not say anything about my utility bill as of yet, however I will send an update. I wanted to wait about 6 months to post this, but I just couldn’t wait. Total installed for me, plumber charged $275 the wire and other materials were around $400. The wire taking the bulk of the load at $300. Again ask any questions, i will update about my electric bill. Only thing we set the temp to 120 and the second shower runs cool. Moved it up to 125 all is good so far.

I took on a project to build a “Barnbath”. Its started as space to bathe my dogs but it grew into a full bathroom, with sink, toilet, shower, and dog-bath. I needed a solution for hot water. I don’t have natural gas plumbed to the barn, so my options were electric or propane. I thought about a mini-hot water tank, but that would require constant energy to function properly. I only use this space once or twice a week, so why heat the water 24×7. This eliminated the mini-tank idea. I researched the on demand systems available. The Ecosmart ECO24 made the most sense, and the cost was very close to the tank solution. The electric service in my barn was sufficient for this unit, and it was no big deal to run the 3 lines of 8 gauge wire. The only down side is I’m on pre-treated well water, the input temp is around 43 degrees. To obtain a nice hot shower I had to put a control valve at the shower head to limit the flow to 1.5gals per minute. Washing the dogs is no problem cuz they don’t need real hot water, only warm. Yes, at 24KW it uses a lot of energy however for the limited use I have not seen a huge jump in the electric bill. All in all I’m very happy with its performance.
