Notes:

● Please secure all cable connections to the proper specification in order to ensure good contact between the cable lugs and the terminals. Over-tightening cable connections can cause terminal breakage and loose cable connections can cause terminal meltdown or fire.

● DO NOT string the battery in series. ONLY connect batteries of the same manufacturer and model in parallel.

● Please avoid too high a voltage difference between paralleled batteries, despite the auto-balancing function, to avoid triggering the over-current protection.

So far so good. I have 2 100ah Renogy Li batteries and have been using my rover to monitor the batteries. This monitor auto-detects bank size, gives you basic stats like voltage, total amp hours and state of charge, but also provides amps drawn/supplied as well as remaining amp hours while there is a draw. Super cool feature is that the monitor can put the bank into low voltage shelf mode for storage.

I am very happy with these batteries for my RV. I have three wired in Parallel. I liked the extra long terminal screws supplied, as I have several lugs on some terminals. Good sturdy terminals, too. I also like being able to shut down the battery when the RV is in storage. The batteries will hold their charge indefinitely in this manner, without having to keep a charger on them. Tech note: you do have to remove one lead on each battery in order to shut them down. They will not shut down when tied together.Dramatic improvement over my old lead-acid batteries. I would buy these again.

PACKAGINGThese batteries came very well packaged.ENVIRONMENTThere are no Li Ion batteries that will like the conditions in an engine compartment. Engine compartments get too hot. Some engine compartments also don’t protect the batteries from water. Don’t be that guy that puts a Li Ion battery in an engine compartment, then complains.CHARGINGYou need to use a purpose built battery charger. Li Ion batteries have extremely low internal resistance compared to Lead acid. If you try to charge these directly from an alternator. One of two things will happen, 1) the BMS will terminate the charge due to over current or 2) you will overheat your alternator from over current. E.g. If you have a 300 Amp alternator and only one battery the first scenario will occur. If you have a 300 Amp alternator and four batteries the second scenario will occur.SHELF MODEIf you want to put a parallel bank into shelf mode without disconnecting them, they must all be connected with ethernet cables. They also must all have one of the more recent firmware versions. When these batteries first came out the firmware did not allow parallel connected batteries to be put in shelf mode. Renogy sells a cable for updating the firmware.Power cables https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F4GHYD0 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F4GI0UGEthernet Cables https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0721RFHT8

Can’t believe how fast these charge. Forget lead acid anything, this technology is now at the threshold of launching the solar home power industry to the next level. There are a few limits like you can’t charge them in below freezing temperatures, so be mindful of that. I’m building an insulated box with a 110volt heat pad underneath for colder conditions. Haven’t seen them go below 50% yet. Doubt they will with 5 lined up and 2400 watts coming in. Love em’.

Bought 2 of these for RV house batteries replacements. Purchased the BT-2 to monitor them via phone app and a new converter to properly charge them. So far everything seems to be good. The batteries are linked via a cat5 cable. The monitor displays the current status of the batteries, the power draw or charge, the temperature and estimated run-time. I like the auto-balancing feature when using multiple batteries. I also like the way the batteries arrived… in a low power state that you turn on with the cat5 adapter plug. Allowed me to check them then turn them “off” while installing. I’m impressed.
