10 reviews for Emergency Weather Radio 5000 Solar Hand Crank AM FM Shortwave NOAA Portable Battery Operated Radio

  1. Cecilia Brown

I got this because living in Florida in the summer time you need all the outside power sources you can get. This little radio works great. Charges my s21 phone with no problem. Worth the money

  2. Jedi Joe

Compact size and loaded with features. I’m impressed with the features packed into this small unit. Convenient charging with rechargeable battery, USB port and so much more. The LED lights (2) are super bright and will come in handy. I’ve had problems with other FM radios not being able to pick up my favorite station; not a problem with this unit. I’m happy.

  3. TheCactusMan

The device is well-designed, has every feature I need, and is easy to use. I especially like having the headphone jack, to listen without disturbing others and to save power.

  4. SN

I’ve waited to review so that I could test this little weather radio. Everyday, I play the radio, turn on all the lights all solely with solar power. It’s a great little radio who thinks it’s a big radio. The sound is great, the alarm is loud and the lights are very bright, again all with solar power. Yeah!

  5. Harty Wagner

In addition to having for an emergency, I use the radio when working in the yard out of reach of an electric plug in. I tend to forget to shut the radio off at the end of the day, leaving it outside and running the battery down. With power set on Li-ion, I can basically operate the radio all day, with solar charging. The AAA batteries are always there in case. The radio is fine, not excellent. The speaker is what you would expect for a small radio and one must carefully tune to the center of the stations to get good reception with no buzzing, etc..The flashlight and reading light are fine, and should be of good use in an emergency. I am impressed with the run time I can get from the discharged batteru with a few minutes of easy cranking.Oh, and the little compass on the wrist stap is a nice addition.

  6. NarniaNarnia

I expected it to be much bigger and pleasantly surprised that it was much smaller . I like how it is very portable! It’s easier to keep in the drawer or the car or backpack.Very handy compact design that has good solar or battery option. Has bright flashlight , has a nice emergency alert red botton and be ready for a loud alarm like sound if you press the red botton! It also has a usb port on the side . I’m glad to have it handy . I honestly think everyone should have one in their emergency kit box during power outage or any other type of emergency.

  7. JSH

I like everything about this radio. The sound is clear. The flashlight is very bright with different degrees of brightness. There are multiple ways to charge it: crank, USB, solar. I recommend this radio.

  8. Furkie GFurkie G

Solar radios are great for emergency’s to just have for those just in case moments. If you are preparing a survival bag or even going hiking this radio is pretty cool. It comes with a crank on the side just incase it is night time and you need some sort of power as well as a solar panel for when it is day time.It has an sos mode as well as a flashlight which is a great add on. I was also surprised when i came with a clip that can be used to attach it to your camping gear or bag when you are on the move, so over all it doesn’t take up much space at all. It is really light weight and portable

  9. mnfishbro

There is a lot to like about this radio and a couple of knit picks. I recently did a backpacking trip on the superior hiking trail and used this radio daily. Whether it was for tunes around the camp fire or picking up weather reports (weather was horrible with severe storms one night)Pros- Great battery life. I never inserted the extra 3AAA’s into the radio because I did not want the extra weight. The battery on this never died. I would set it in the sunlight in the morning and that seemed enough to keep it charged.- I was in a pretty remote area. I was still able to pick up a lot of radio stations (only used FM) Also the weather bands were clear and I was able to get info on systems that were passing through along with temps.Con’s- The tuner is slightly off on this. For example if I was trying to find 92.5 FM. It was more like 94. This wasnt a huge deal because there is plenty of room at the end of the dial so you still get the full range of frequency.- The solar panel when propped up is a little loosy goosy. I put a stick behind it to keep it aimed at the sun.Overall I like this radio a lot. Glad I purchased and it came in very helpful while camping. Especially one night when we found out severy lighting was moving in. I would recommend!

  10. Frank C.

Best inexpensive weather/emergency radio I’ve purchased to date. Time set easy, volume good and a much easier layout than the smaller running snail radios I have put away in car or back packs. I recommend
