BLUETTI Solar Generator AC200MAX FAQ

Q1: What devices can be charged/powered by AC200MAX?

A: With its 2200W(4800W surge) AC inverter, this solar generator can power most of your appliances under 2200W.

Q2: How long will AC200MAX power my device?

A: Working time (estimation) = 2048Wh* 0.85 / operating power of your device. (0.85=Conversion Rate) Kindly note the actual working time may vary under different circumstances.

Q3: Why does my PV200 cannot provide 200W of output power?

A: The actual output power will be affected by many factors such as weather, temperature, sunlight intensity, and the panel’s angle. The 200W of power is the result under perfect conditions. So to get a higher output wattage, please use it under stronger sunlight, adjust the angle, and avoid the shadow.

Q4: Can I charge AC200MAX with solar panels and wall outlet simultaneously, or use dual AC adapters?

A: Yes, but for the dual AC charging, a second BLUETTI AC adapter is required.

While charging with panels, the low input wattage had me stumped for a while. I had (theoretical) 600 watts of panels connected, but only getting 180 watts of charging. No matter how I had them configured. There is a setting that has to be changed that isn’t clear in the Chinese to English translated manual. In the 12v charging setting, change it to either PV or OTHER (can’t remember which) to get max input wattage from the panels. This simple step allowed the input wattage to go from 180 to 470+. MUUUCH better! We don’t wear tin foil hats, but we are preparing for some potential inadequacies in our infrastructure, and supply chain. With this in mind, we purchased the AC200Max + 3 PV200 panels bundle. Price increased by $200 just a week later. I suppose many others are seeing the writing on the wall. So, jump on this while you can!! I highly recommend this bundle! So, that covers the why…now about the product. When it arrived I plugged it in to AC charging, to get it 100%. Then we ran a little experiment. We live in a Park Model RV. Similar to single wide mobile home. It has a 50A power cable that plugs into the park’s power pedestal. Our entire house runs on 120V, so AC200’s lack of 220V was not an issue. I had also purchased a 50A female, to 30A male adapter. I plugged the house’s 50A power cable into the AC200’s 30A outlet, then slowly flipped all the breakers back on. With the 2kw inverter, it ran everything as expected. Lights, TV’s, fridge, computers, wifi network, exhaust fan, etc. Our house has an electric water heater that draws 1700 watts. With everything mentioned above, still running, we ran some hot water to get the heater to come on. The AC200 output wattage was bouncing around 1900-2100, and handled the load just fine. The internal fan did kick on, but kept putting out the juice. I was impressed. We know that some of our other appliances (microwave, instant pot, air fryer) can’t be used while the heater is working. With all this going…it only took 30min to bring the 2048kwh batteries down to 50%. To be expected, of course. So, we purchased the B230 add-on battery to extend our run time. That pretty maxed out the capabilities of the AC200MAX. We understand that some energy frugality will be required, but It’s nice to know that we can maintain some level of normalcy during the anticipated rolling black-outs this summer. I’m hoping when the time comes to start using this unit on a semi-permanent basis, we can have enough solar panel input to keep the batteries topped off until the sun goes down. Then have enough juice to get us through the night. Planning to install some more permanent, higher wattage, panels on the roof that can be plugged in when the need arises. I may see if I can figure out how to back-feed my breaker panel to automatically switch back and forth from grid power to generator to cut down on our grid power usage. Stay tuned for updates.

We love that it is easy to use and expandable. It gives us all the power we need to boondock in our rv. We would like to see a panel support on all 4 sections not just on 3.The solar panels need some way to anchor them down Incase there is wind.

Bluetti surprised us by shipping the system only a few hours after we ordered it on Amazon and it was scheduled to be delivered 4 days later — much sooner than the 9-12 days that Amazon estimated. On this accelerated schedule the system would have arrived while we were still out of town. So we had to contact Bluetti to ask them to get UPS to delay delivery by 3 days so we could be home to take delivery. Victor C. at Bluetti Logistics was very helpful in quickly taking care of this request. UPS, however, still delivered the solar panel packages two days earlier than the requested date (though by good luck we had just arrived home) — even though on the UPS tracking site it stated they would deliver them the same rescheduled day as the main unit. UPS did deliver the charger unit on the actual rescheduled date as requested but did not ask for signature on delivery, even though the Amazon email said they should. So in summary we can say that Bluetti’s customer service was very good but the UPS service was unreliable. That is a UPS issue though, not Bluetti’s. The system was very well packed, double boxed and padded. It comes 67% charged and works as advertised. No problems so far. The screen can be difficult to read when outside in the sunlight but that can be resolved by keeping the unit inside (which is preferable anyway) and running extension MC4 cables out to the solar panels. From the 3 PV200 solar panels connected in series we averaged 450W in a mid-afternoon test, which seems reasonable. We still have to test it in full midday sun but would expect mid-500s then. The PV200s with their parallel internal connections appeared to perform as advertised in that, even with some shade, the generated wattage decreased by only a small percentage, not radically as would be the case for panels using serial internal connections. Initial impressions of theAC200Max is that it is a solidly constructed unit that works as advertised and we hope it will continue to perform with no issues.

I have a Reliance 30amp power inlet, and the generator interlock kit hooked up in my electrical box. I hooked up the ACMAX200 to it and turned it on to power the house. Powered the whole house and even the oven, handling 500w continuously. Tested the microwave on top of that continuous, but didn’t really handle all of it together. Though, handled everything else in the house including fans, lights, fridges, freezers (not big stuff like cooktop, hot water heater, etc.) but would easily run our 10000 btu portable air condition if nothing else plugged in. Everything worked just fine, not sure what that reverse polarity issue is about, but ran the house beautifully. Only thing I was not impressed with was the solar panels, couldn’t get more than 250w on a steady basis with all 3 plugged in (did spike to over 300w for a few minutes). There was latency with the extension, without it I was getting about 110w coming in from each, but full sun, pointed directly at it, did not produce the 200w. That said, I ran my house for 4hours and was only at 70% of battery with the set up you see in the video. I bought the following items with it

I unpacked the boxes and everything looks perfect. The solar generator is solid and the panels fold up nicely. The handles on the generator and the panels are also very well made and easy to use. I also like the display. I have only charged the unit from my home using the 110V outlet. It didn’t take long and worked well. I am going to try the panels soon. So far I am loving everything about this Solar Generator.

Used in an RV to replace broken gas generator. Really worthwhile if you can afford investment. No more noisy smelly gas generator. Runs all of our appliances, including A/C and microwave. With the energy hungry A/C and microwave charge will only last an hour or 2. But it did get us through until 6am on a very cold early spring night using our furnace. Solar panels work great in series. Got about 400W of charging out of them during the brightest part of the day. Laid them flat on our RV roof. I store the generator in our external storage compartment, and cut a hole to plug the 30amp shore cable to it. The Bluetooth app on my phone is an awesome feature on the generator because you can operate it from inside and not have to manually operate it. Just turn it on when you need to use it, as the app can not turn on the power if it has been shut off. The only thing I want now is more solar panels and battery storage so our appliances can run longer. Very satisfied with this purchase.
