I believe that everyone should be prepared for emergencies and have food for their families in the house. I do my best to have a year’s supply for every family member. This stuff is great price and good stuff! I agree with some of the others and I wish that the portions were in smaller pouches, perhaps 4 servings per pouch. But in an emergency, I’ll just deal with it! I wanted to add this: I buy these because they don’t have breakfast foods in them. I don’t like breakfast cereals etc. I wouldn’t mind eggs and gravy, but most emergency foods come with oatsmeal and other hot cereals that would never get eaten or would be the very last to be eaten. I’m also glad that there’s not a ton of flavored drinks and or soy milk in these since we are a water drinking family. 🙂

Freeze dried food will save your family – but ONLY if you have it on standy. To me flavor is adjustable with salt and pepper. Unfortunately we are finding ourselves in a bad time in history (2022) when the country is being purposely thrown to the wolves of wall street and Big Pharma. The economy has a dim prospect and we have nobody looking out for us at the helm. Testing this, this product doesn’t go as far as I thought it would – buy more than you think you’ll need.

Ok. I received package. Had to know. Cooked creamy potato soup on the stove. Good! Not bad…good. I put some peeper in it to be honest, because I love pepper. Even better. Hands down! Surprised me at how not horrible this is. I am a fan. Good job guys. Keep rolling these out! America needs you!

These are great for longer camping trips, will pack easily in a car trunk or in a small camping trailer. For two people they are enough for two week’s worth of two meals per day. The selection is limited so as a supplement to regular food to break up the monotony they would easily last a group of four or five at least two weeks. There isn’t breakfast food in the pack, but we like more substantial foods when we’re camping. A source of fresh clean water is needed. Also needed are pots, pans, bowls, plates, silver, heat source, condiments, et cetera. Prices have go e up recently since preppers are buying them up, so I will probably hold off buying my next pail until after the furor dies down.

So far so good. I have eaten the chicken noodle soup. It tastes a little like Lipton cuppa soup. The chocolate pudding is pretty good. It has a little odd taste but I think that may be my water. City water leaves a bit of itself behind in everything. I bought this as a tester. I want to know what I am getting when I store some back. I think I like this brand already. I can’t wait for the clam chowder. OOPS! I mean Corn Chowder. : ).I cannot recommend it over any other products because I have not tried but one and I do not see much difference. Try it. I like it. You may also. UPDATE REVIEW: I like it. I served up some potato soup to a neighbor and now she thinks I am gonna make a fine wife someday. She loved it. I just ordered the Breakfast/dinner bucket. I have gone through about 1/2 of the lunch/dinner bucket and I know the Breakfast/Dinner bucket will last just as long. I do recommend these for your emergency cache. However, I am using them as a supplement to my other dinner fixins. Thanks Augasons. Good stuff.

For starters the lunch/Dinner pail is what this review is about. Expiration date on the meal packets are 02/01/2046 so there’s plenty of time for a natural or man made disaster if that’s what floats your boat lol. You can also use it for daily meals definitely cheaper than buying or storing groceries. Please note this is not an MRE pail, this is packaged for a minimum of 4 servings & a max of 8 servings with some cooking involved, like boiling water and adding & stirring! You can use this for individual consumption by using a portion of the packet content then putting a chip clip on the pouch for later use! The pail has a seal on the inside of the lid so storing is not a problem. The food comes with directions on each packet for how much water to use, my suggestion is to use a bit less water… like a 1/2 cup less than instructed then you decide if you need more, the food tastes great and it’s not runny like some people described if you use a bit less water, like I said you can always add more water if needed! For a survival food this is actually tasty! I would definitely buy again! I hope this info helps!

So far it seems like a robust container, maybe watertight since there’s a rubber gasket. The lid has to be peeled around the perimeter first, which took a bit of effort. And taking the lid off for the first time took quite a bit of effort. I’m glad I made the attempt comfortably at home instead of on the road after an emergency! My container came with 16 packets of food. Most of the packets had an expiration date of 2045 (25 years). The elbow macaroni noodles are good for 30 years, but the lone cheese packet is good for 10 years. Maybe in 10 years, I’ll throw a velveeta in here. That having been said… there’s two packets of noodles but only one packet of cheese. So you’d have to eat all the noodles when you open the cheese sauce, or get creative.I realized, inside, there’s no bowls or utensils or anything… duh! So I have to make sure I can cook this food and serve it later on. The packets themselves won’t be suitable for such secondary task.Lastly, one of my food packets had a small puncture. I hope the seller will replace this packet of food or something. So I’ll update the review once I’ve had a chance to eat it! Kind of lucky I’ll be forced to try it out before it spoils!

I got these buckets when they were discounted, and it’s a fabulous deal for what you get, especially in these uncertain times. I use a few different places when purchasing food storage, but one thing that keeps me coming back to Augason is value for money, and the meals are nutritious and taste good. A few tips, be sure to purchase a bucket wrench to help you open the bucket lid as it’s soldered on tight. Start from the corner with the wrench as it causes the most minimal amount of damage. Yes, it’s okay to open the bucket to make sure everything is intact. Each packet is individually sealed so it does NOT affect the shelf life of the food if you open the bucket then reclose it. Also, make sure to get a dolly or something to keep it off the floor wherever you store it to prolong the life of the food. 1 lunch and dinner bucket = 46 days of lunch & dinner for one person, or 11.5 days for a family of 4, give or take. Thanks, Augason.

I inspected the contents and all the Mylar pouches of food were there and were properly sealed. The bucket contains 21,020 calories of lunch and dinner meals, or about 15 days of food (not including fifteen 667 calorie breakfasts) if you are aiming for 2000 calories per day. Each pouch contains multiple servings, so you will need to have some Zip Lock bags to store the opened pouches. All the food requires mixing with boiled water and some requires simmering, so you will need a supply of clean water and a camp stove or some other way to boil water in a cooking pot. When I re-packed the food bucket, there was enough space left to add a Mylar bag of 6.5 cups of quinoa grain (26 servings of whole grain complete protein at 170 calories per serving). For a true grid-down emergency, the nutrition in this bucket would be a big help. I would supplement it with a #10 can of vitamin C-fortified drink mix and 2 or 3 #10 cans of freeze-dried non-starchy vegies (broccoli, carrots, zucchini, spinach…) for more balanced nutrition.
